‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 trailer crushes ‘Sex and the City’ fans’ hopes for key plotline twist

Fans were crushed to find that the “And Just Like That” Season 3 trailer failed to include any cameos of Kim Cattrall after she made a lauded appearance in the previous season.

While Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have reprised their respective “Sex and the City” roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes in the MAX reboot, Cattrall didn’t appear in the project until the last episode of Season 2.

Despite the positive reactions from viewers after Cattrall brought back her role as Samantha Jones, she was not shown in the newly released trailer for Season 3 — suggesting that she won’t be coming back in the new installment.

“Where is Samantha Jones????????” one person wrote on X after the trailer dropped Tuesday.

“And everybody was hoping to see queen Kim Cattrall in [the] trailer 😂😂 #andjustlikethat,” a second person chimed in.

“We want Kim Cattrall!” one person cheered, while another asked, “Why Samantha ain’t in it?”

“And just like that….im already bored 🙄,” another unenthused social media user said.

In May 2023, reports surfaced that Cattrall, 68, would make a brief appearance after turning down a part in Season 1 of the spinoff amid her reported years-long feud with Parker.

When the series was locked in for a second season, Cattrall revealed she wouldn’t return unless the streaming giant met her demands.

“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’ and I went, ‘Hmm. Let me get creative,’” Cattrall shared on “The View” in June 2023.

“And one of those things was to get [costume designer] Pat Field back, because I just thought that if I’m going to come back, I gotta come back with that Samantha style, I gotta push it,” she added.

A source told Page Six that she also refused to film any scenes with Parker, 60, Nixon, 59, and Davis, 60.

“Kim had two stipulations — one, that she would not act with any of the other girls, and two, she did not want to see [showrunner] Michael Patrick King,” an insider shared at the time.

Cattrall’s character was written off the show in Season 1, with Jones moving to London after the publicist dumped Bradshaw as a client.

Cattrall has long been rumored to have beef with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

Cattrall’s demands were not met, and for her highly anticipated return, her character was only seen in a car talking on the phone with Bradshaw in the scene.

“The offer presented to Kim was always to be a phone call, shot alone as most calls would be,” a spokesperson for HBO and Max told Page Six.

“This was an easy and convenient way for Samantha to return. We are delighted it worked out.”

While fans were excited to see Cattrall’s character back on screen, they may be let down yet again with the return of the drama, which is set to premiere on Max on May 29.
